This is an idea that has been in my head for awhile, not quite sure how difficult it would be to code and criticism is welcome.
Main Idea and Method
- Learning: Parrots if fed pumpkin seeds would begin recording all sounds in a 48 block radius for 2-3 minutes. This would be the parrots "song" and might be slightly higher pitch.
- Memory: The song would be unique to the parrot and would be saved as a sound file to the sound directory possibly being named "ParrotSong_(Parrot name here)" if parrot is unnamed then it would be given a random number. This will allow the recorded "Song" to be played by command block. Feeding a parrot pumpkin seeds if it already has a song will cause it to forget the song it learned
- Reciting: The song can also be replayed in survival by feeding the parrot melon seeds, if a dispenser has melon seeds and a parrot is in front of it the parrot will play the song and the melon seeds are consumed.
Why?
- This would open up creative opportunities for having note block music be used in a much more space effective manor and wouldn't devalue noteblocks as you would need to make the song first.
- It more easily allows players to share their musical talent with others on a server with the help of their feathery friends.
- And finally it gives a unique, interesting, and creatively practical purpose to a mob that I believe hasn't quite lived up to it's potential.
Thank you for listening to my idea
