Advance audio physics would significantly enhance the immersion of Minecraft. To explain, all blocks, when placed in front of a audio source, could have a base level of reduction in its volume and audio frequency, while other kinds of blocks could prohibit or significantly reduce its sound volume or audio frequency. For example, wool could either block an audio source entirely or let in the low frequency range of audio to simulate the effect wool would have in real life. Similarly, a block of wood could block the higher parts of the frequency range to give it a more semi muffled effect.
