Being able to save our 1.16 & under seeds & use them in 1.17+

I've recently written a book of seeds. Then one day, I realized 'wait oh no oh my gosh these seeds will be useless because of the new world generation because who knows how that could change things'. I mean, how do the preset seed picker seeds stay perfect and the same (BE) but our seeds change up? I think under all the preset seeds should be a button called 'save seed'. When clicked it displays a screen with two boxes. The first box is where you type in the seed. The second is where you name the seed (optional). Then a button appears saying 'save seed'. Click this then under all the presets will be your seed. If not named it will say 'dragongirl4378's Seed' but with your username of course. I don't think this needs to be in Java because there you can just go and play historical versions.

    Or you can accept that the changes that will happen won't be that crucial to the already existing generation of the seed; the biomes that are being added are cave biomes, so they won't mess up with the surface biomes, besides making the surface and underground blend better. The new Mountain biomes might do so, but they are usually 2000 blocks apart each, and given the split of the update their placement where they replace other biomes is probably temporary. I'd say it is likely that they would incorporate them better into the biome generation.The biomes might definitely change up a little bit, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal. Strongholds and Mineshafts generate in essentially the same spots, just usually lower down. Dungeons will be the most affected, changing spots completely, though other Dungeons usually generate somewhere around where you'd expect them to be previously. I see your logic, but the reason I'm being so critical is because it would be extremely complex and performance heavy to simulate an entire world without even opening it, or to lock a certain generation algorithm into such a simple file. From the technical side, this could be a nightmare. A much better solution to your problem would be to either accept how it is, or just give us the ability to load up older versions on Bedrock Edition, and I'd honestly like the second option.

    No problem :) I'm sure this is something a lot of people are asking for. It is kind of unfair for it to be a Java exclusive (as with quite a few things), though there might be challenges I'm not aware of. Nevertheless, it would be really fun to see how Minecraft was in the past. I don't think it should be too challenging from a technical perspective, given that I can go back to Legacy Console Edition with one press of a button (I play PS4).
