Hound Dog or tracking dogs

Ever had a hard time trying to find more of something? Maybe on your last steak and you need to find a cow, or searching for iron Ore in a cave but you aren't coming up with any? How about trying to find those elusive diamonds or more bees for your honey farm? Or what if you just want to find a specific biome using an item unique to that biome? Well I think it's just about time we add some utility to pet dogs. Imagine if you could train the dog to sniff an object in your hand and it will lead you in that direction. You let it sniff a diamond and if you take it down to Y12 it'll lead you in the direction of diamonds. Perhaps the dog would need a training block (just like villagers have blocks that determine their career) or better yet a dog whistle, which requires copper and iron. Maybe the dog could have different levels of smell just like horses have different jumping heights. You would have to find a pet dog with a maxed out sniffer to hunt diamonds but any would be able to find sheep if you showed them some wool.
