Idea for a use for the Dragon Egg

I think it would make a lot of sense if the Dragon Egg is used to hatch the Ender Dragon. After placing the end crystals, the player should place the Dragon Egg on an Obsidian block placed by the player anywhere around the main END island. This makes sense as the Crystals will give the energy to the egg to quickly hatch and make the Ender Dragon grow up into an adult and BOOM! Time to fight the Dragon. Also I think the dragon should get some extra health every respawn and should drop more and more XP every time.
