Linking rails not dependant on axis (Bedrock)

I was building a super smelter on my survival world, and the final thing I had to do was the rails on top of the hoppers. But the rails kept linking to each-other in absurd ways and couldn’t finish the smelter because of this. If I want the rails to not link to each other, then I need to build it on a different axis. This is a really big issue for building projects that involve placing rails in a compact area, so please make it so that placing rails is dependant on the direction you are facing, not the axis.
