For too long have we had to tear up deserts for sand, which can be used to make useful things like glass, it’s always a burden to have to make your world more ugly, that’s the premise to this idea.
Clams spawn in warm oceans and biomes like that, they are a mob but act like a block, you can mine them to place them anywhere. If on sand and underwater, every ten minutes they produce a sand block, like how chickens lay eggs.
Pearls, on the other hand, are produced inside of the clam, if produced, the clam won’t make sand the next time. Pearls are used to create many blocks like pearl tiles and blocks of pearls, but their main use is in tools & armor, and beacons.
Adding a pearl to a beacon in place of the normal ore will make the effect last 60 seconds, so you can go outside the beacon range and still have the effect for a while. Next, in smithing tables, pearls infused with armor or tools will give you a unique variety that is textured different. These items will have a much higher cap on how many enchantments can go on them (think when it says ‘too expensive’)
Overall clams will fix the problem with sand, give oceans more life, give players a incentive to adventure, upgrade the smithing table, and make enchantments less annoying, which is why I think this suggestion should be added.
