mushroom rings: overworld portals

I believe that a great addition to Minecraft would be a way to make portals from one place to another in the overworld. While this could easily be a broken mechanic if not handled correctly, I believe it could be used to give new uses to several items that aren't used very much. specifically, mushrooms, chorus fruit, and ender pearls. 

Basically, a player would need to get mushroom blocks, either red, or brown, and then make two five by five squares with them, with the  corners missing in the locations that they want connected. They would then need to craft a pair of chorus eyes which would be two ender pearls in the middle of the crafting box with eight chorus fruit around them. At this point they would then be able to use the new item on each of the rings once, thus connecting the portals. Additionally, a player could be required to use a chorus fruit on the portal each time they want to go through it.

I believe this would provide a great end game item, and something that could facilitate the greater expansion of a player's world.

    I know that making out of the box ideas and making the game fun for new players can be hared and I think a new portal can help with this it will bring back old players to survival and make it so that we can add much more mobs and new biomes but on the other hand we do need a up date to most of the over world so be for we do something like a new portal and maybe a new boss we need to up date the biomes we have already.

    This would not be a gateway to a new world, but rather a way to make doors from one place to another. Perhaps a new mob could be added to the mooshroom biome that would be needed to make the portal functional. So, rather then being made from standard mushroom blocks, the portal needs to be made from the monster mushroom blocks.

    These new mobs could spawn in mooshroom biomes, and the end realm, as they are involved with teleportation.
