Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the point of Minecraft's new archaeology sites is to make the player wonder what secrets are waiting to be unearthed, so I have a few suggestions to help with that:
1. Buried treasure maps have a chance to lead you to hidden archeology sites instead of buried treasure.
2. Archeology sites have many different themes, and my themes I mean the people who lived there before, these include: Piglin (In Nether), Villager, Pillager, Unknown (Ender/Teleportation themed), Unknown (Nether/Fire themed), Unknown (Stronghold/Undead themed), and Unknown (Sea Themed). These effect the loot, rare items, and designs on ceramic shards found there.
3. New rare items should only be unlocked by archeology (Custom Treasure Enchantments, New weapons, New totems?)
4. Curses should be a thing, and they should vary, but they last indefinitely and can be removed by milk, you can sometimes get these from digging up curses with the brush, these also vary with theme, but they include: "Only able to breathe in water", "Attacks against you deal more damage the lower health you are at", "Hostile mob spawn rate is multiplied by 1.5 for you", "Water doesn't prevent fall damage", "You cannot heal from anything other than potion effects".
I hope you liked these.
