You read that right.
Arguably the most essential component in Minecraft, entities slow the game. If you were to take any server and remove every entity from it, I guarantee that on all versions and devices, you will notice a dramatic boost in FPS. The truth is that entities cause lag, and Minecraft would be faster without them. However, Minecraft won't work without entities. They're essential to the game, without them, there would be no mobs, no ridiculous commands with armor stands, a player couldn't even spawn! That's why I want an Entity Render Distance. Entities would only render in a certain meter radius. This can scale from whatever it already is (which I assume is around 400ish meters, or whatever your render distance is.), or it could drop all the way down to a 50-meter radius. If this doesn't work, then you can have entity render distances work in chunks! A 2 chunk entity render distance can be amazing for slower computers, and it can automatically increase as you scope in with a bow or spyglass.
