/family command to change mob family of players or mobs

I know that mob families are a more advanced technical minecraft topic, but I think it would be really cool to have a command that could change the mob family of an entity or player to, say, make them take more damage from Smite or Bane of Arthropods. I think this would be great for things like servers with kit pvp, adventure maps, or challenges. For anyone who doesn’t know, a mob family is like a category of mobs, like “undead.” 

The command syntax could be something like this:

/family <creature:target> <family:string>

    I have been looking for a way to make the game treat me like an undead without addons or mods for a while. Bedrock edition. I've gone so far as to continually test for air above the player's head and for water at the player's feet, And periodically Flash in a lava block on them. And applying blindness to anything undead that looks at me. I'm still having trouble figuring out how to reverse the instant health and instant damage effects.
