I saw this on Simple Sarc video, reflected a little, and then went to do some testing with skulk in creative.
This is all my point of view as a player, the current skulk sensor dont have much ultility, besides the fact u need a massive line of contraptions to be able to filter the right sound, which means its hard to be implemented, the fact the same type of sound triggers the same redstone signal is a problem, because in the same way it detects your steps so does any other walking.
Its just not that cool or useful, its a feature to the tech communit that we dont care, I can prove my point, look up in the Youtube, Ray, Illmango, Gnembon and many others, they arent doing amazing skulk sensor stuff, because there is not a lot to do.
But with an more controllable triggering, the uses are literally unlimeted, since almost everything in this game produces a sound, super smart defenses, highly efficient farms, the most epic of contraptions, genius-like smart bases, ACTUAL automatic doors for players!
And even after that it doesnt means it needs to be op, for instance, making it a non-farmable and rare item would contrabalance its supreme power, the filtering system can be annoying, hard and complicated to do, requiring several steps, which would just be amazing, skulk based farms to make filtered skulks!
Im more than sure the tech communit would love the skulks, maybe everyone would! It could be an actual reason to the tech players explore the deep dark!
