Give Bats A Use

So far, bats are useless except for decoration. I'd like to change that! My idea is, there would be two types. The Megabat (aka the fruit bat) and the Microbat (aka the insect-eating bat). The Megabat could be fed/bred using Apples and Sweet Berries (fruits in general). Microbats would be fed/bred using Spider Eyes. Megabat features/ facts:

Passive and won't attack anything.

Spawns: You know Dark Oak trees? Well, take one of those, take one log out of the trunk near the top, and you've got a Megabat den (where they can spawn).

Looks: Bigger than the normal bat model, but otherwise the same.

Microbat features/facts:  

Aggressive, but only attacks silverfish, spiders and cave spiders.

Spawns: Caves.

Looks: Exactly the same as the current bat model.

    I love the Fruit Bat idea, but how does this make bats useful?

    Microbats would control the insect population. You could keep them around your base if you were scared of bugs. Megabats are just to dress it up a little.

    Then you should make it so that the bats can be tamed and used as pets!

    Oh yeah! Bats could be fed Glow Berries too. And UltimaDrogon112, perhaps they could be tamed, but using Glow Berries only?
