Lightning rods idea

The idea is that when a lightning rod is underwater it will damage nearby mobs in a bigger radius and do more damage to said mobs it would make sense and it would also teach similar to not giving chocolate to parrots is bad don't let an electrical wire go into water maybe the rod could have a chance to "fry" itself and be unable to function for a small period of time

    Lightning strikes underwater really wouldn't hurt anything there, the electricity would harmlessly disperse across the water since the minerals of the water is more conductive than flesh. Even when lightning strikes on the water's surface, fish deeper down are rather unaffected due to the same priceable (fish on the surface can be electrified however).

    Not to mention, a feature like this might be turned into a low-effort farm with high rewards which Mojang is trying to avoid.

    MisledCypress88 Yes you would be correct and I do want to correct myself that the radius wouldn't be very large like probably a 2x2 or 3x3 area and maybe 2 blocks deep bc Fun Fact: the depth that lightning can go inside of water and still be lethal is 2.2 meters deep [or about 7 feet] so the strike wouldn't go far but it would still affect it and they did just recently make lightning rods able to be waterlogged so maybe something like this could be made and the damage probably be very low
