I appreciate the ore changes so that they all have different shapes that can be identified independently of color. Despite how conservative most Minecraft players are with their ores, I think this is a really good change, and I can identify most ores easily by their shape. However, there's an issue. Here's one think I liked about the textures in the latest snapshot, and one thing I didn't like.
Liked: Contrary to what most players think about the newest texture for iron ore, I like it better than the previous texture because to me, it previously looked way too similar to copper ore, since copper looks more green to me than orange. Loved the change of iron ore to be more easily identified independently of copper ore. I recommend keeping this one, or at least retaining the iron's horizontal-diagonal shape.
Disliked: I don't like the change to emerald ore. Emerald ore was incredibly easy to immediately identify originally, but since the change, its shape looks painfully similar to gold ore, and as someone who gets his greens and yellows mixed up commonly, both ores essentially look the exact same, and can be easily mistaken for each other. I'd recommend making the emerald patches on emerald ore smaller if nobody is considering keeping the old emerald ore texture.
