Java Edition Controller Support

Hi! I've been playing Minecraft for 6 years now, and I have always played on the legacy and bedrock console editions, however I'm thinking about switching to Minecraft Java. The thing is, i've never played any game on keyboard and mouse before, and i just find controller more comfortable and easy to use. I think there are probably many other players who feel this same way, and I would really appreciate if we could get official Java controller support, instead of having to use janky mods.

    There are several mods and steam, but it would be so much more convenient to use a in game controller support.

    THIS IS NECESSARY FOR ACCESSIBILITY PURPOSES!

     

    my autism makes it incredibly frustrating to switch from controller to keyboard....its like having to relearn how to play the same game over and over again and its a nightmare.

     

    please fix this asap

    so dumb, I wanna play minecraft with a controller on my MacBook, but MacBook only accepts java edition, and java edition doesn't support controllers... so frustrating

    They definitely need to add controller support for Java, I'm honestly surprised they haven't already. It would be such an easy addition to make especially since they have already done it for the bedrock version on PC. Hopefully we can see this happen soon!
