The Snuffer

The snuffer is a block-based (similar to the shulker) sculk mob that uses black tentacles to put out torches within 17 blocks. It would spawn on the higher walls of the deep dark and its tentacles would be black vines that look like the ones in the crimson and warped forests. Viewers of The Warden's presentation during Minecon Live 2020 will know that one the torches the player placed down were put out before encountering The Warden. What if this mob was a natural resident would be the thing that destroyed the torch? It would also encourage using more expensive or rare blocks or items like shroomlights, lanterns or other future light sources. Upon being attacked, the mob will lash out with tentacles firing like guardian lasers, which can only be blocked by blocks. It has 38 hp and drops sculk growths and grimstone upon death.
