Wandering Trader Revamp and Biome Maps

Wandering traders are very obsolete and useless currently. To fix this we can give them a proper use. They could potentially trade maps that provide you with the locations of rare biomes. Players have no real method to find particular biomes other than randomly stumbling upon them. Sometimes players lose motivation as they cannot find the biome they were looking for to gain its resources. By adding a trade option for the wandering trader to offer the location of a biome it would give players more incentive to make use of wandering traders and enhance the exploration aspect of the game. The wandering traders should only have around a 40% chance to offer these trades and the biomes that would be on the maps would be comprised of rarer biomes such as mushroom islands, jungles, tundras, flower forests, and more. The fact that wandering traders trade these kinds of maps makes sense since they are travellers and nomads. This trade should be expensive and at a suitable price.

  Totally agree! (3 years later lol). Along with the work-in-progress villager trade rebalances where cartographers give maps for certain biomes like swamps, adding rarer biomes like the ones you listed to wandering traders would be a great addition. It also makes sense for the wandering trader to sell these maps, as he's been wandering the world.

  I 100% agree because I spend three hours searching for the cherry blossom grove, and only found what looked to be a single chunk...
