A lot of textures got remastered in 1.14, and they came out beautifully.
Why not do the same for sounds?
This would make the game a lot more exciting, and add the potential to add higher-definition, more immersive sounds for things like cows, zombies, skeletons, and even block placement! Take the last of those four situations as an example - when 1.16 rolled around, almost every block in the Nether got some sort of overhaul or redo, sounds included. The new netherrack sound is absolutely lovely, and the same goes for nether bricks. Even the sounds for new blocks, like basalt and soul soil, were just so expertly done and I'm personally loving it.
Of course, this does NOT apply to the music. C418's (and somewhat Lena Raine's) soundtrack is a worldwide treasure, I don't think it's even possible to top it while keeping the same atmosphere in Minecraft.
So uh, yeah. A bit of an update to a lot of the sounds in the game would be cool.
