Bird Behaviors + Items for indoor birds.

Item: Bird cage, you can make bigger cages by combining the cage item together. Largest cage can be up to 4x5x4. You can craft cages with iron rods. Cages can open and close, caves left open; birds can fly in and out in an enclosed or open area. Pet birds can enter and go as they please, inside the cage there are feeders and water bowls, those are just for show but the birds can interact with them.

At night birds naturally go to their sleeping areas to sleep, so if they sleep once in their cage by locking them in there, they will always return to the same spot after the first night. When birds sleep they close their eyes and kind of scrunch up. They tuck in their feet closer to their bodies and sleep. All birds will try to sleep in places off the ground, the higher the better. Parrots will sleep in their cages or jungle trees while birds like chickens will sleep in trees. Hay bales should be able to slowly deteriorate, chickens will use small individual wheat pieces to make nests, which they will lay hatching eggs. They can lay up to 3 eggs per nest, and the chicken that laid their eggs in that nest will sit on them for a number of days before the eggs hatch. Same deal with parrots, except they will make nests in their nests or in trees, parrots don’t need wheat if they are outside resting in trees. They will lay their eggs in tree tops under shaded parts of the tree. Baby parrots cannot fly and are born featherless, slower to grow, the babies take much longer to grow.
