Make Villagers smarter

Please please please improve the villager's AI. Make them more aware of their surroundings so they don't get killed as easily. They should not be so dependant on the player that they get killed in the first few days without walls to protect them.

    In Minecraft I always gravitate towards building villages for free-roaming NPC villagers. I just love the feeling of satisfaction of having my builds being “useful” and full of life. However, villagers can be really frustrating to deal with, so I’d love to see them get a little smarter as well. In my current world I have had to change the layout of my buildings to only occupy the first floor of every building because villagers couldn’t reliably find their beds on second or third floors. Even with that, I often see villagers standing two blocks away from their bed all night without moving because another villager’s bed is “in the way”, though there are open paths around. I also see villagers standing at a window staring longingly in to the building where their work station is even though there’s a door just around the corner, and another door around the other corner for good measure. Just… why. I don’t mind building with constraints for the sake of my silly villagers, but at a certain point it’s a hindrance on creativity in a game that’s all about being creative. Please if it is computationally possible consider making villagers just a little smarter. It would make this Minecrafter so very happy!

    This comment about having to change buildings so villagers can find a bed or a workstation is so relatable, early today i got so mad i uninstalled the game. Villagers make me feel like my buildings aren't good enough, and it's obvious they're programmed this way, because other mobs like zombies and vindicators can go anywhere easily. So please, Mojang, make villagers at least find the door, right now they're frustrating and rage inducing.
