A question/complaint about the "Creeper Crunch" cereal codes...

I would just like to know why the Creeper Crunch codes only work on the Bedrock version of Minecraft, and Minecraft Earth. It seems so silly, and it also feels like Mojang is pulling a fast one on java players that didn't read the fine print on the back of the box...
