A problem with how usernames are handled

I personally believe that the way that minecraft account usernames is outdated, the method used by mojang is not the right way of going about it; when the company in charge of the highest selling video game of all time is using a system where there can't be over two of the same name. on paper it seems straight forward, but later on it's increasingly going to become a bigger problem, eventually there will be many, many numbers in new accounts names if mojang continues to use this method. there are also multiple problmes with "og names" , I won't touch on it too much here but account selling is a huge problem. Since everyone is getting a cool cape to celebrate 2fa, which will reduce cape trading, but we could also eliminate another problem as we shift over to microsoft accounts.
