Make Glow Squids Emit Light

Glow Squids in the current snapshot have been seen to only not be affected by light levels and are just differently textured. Is it possible for it to actually emit light or is that a milestone too far for Mojang to accomplish? I personally think that there should at least be a setting added that allows for the glow squid to actually emit light, naturally off by default that may be turned on so that those who want a emitting glow squid without having to download any 3rd party modification can actually get that. I'm sure that maybe Optifine might add the glow to the glow squid but at the same time they like to optimise the game and then you can choose for fancier graphics but still optimized so just having the option to normally have glow squids actually glow that is off by default wouldn't be so bad. I feel like others have submitted a post about the glow squid and I don't know if anything I've said relates to what they say, but if it does it goes to show that I'm not the only want that wants Glow Squids to live up to their name and potential.
