The jungle abomination boss fight is very lackluster. It moves too slow for a creature made of plant matter, and it's basically the redstone monstrosity but even less interesting. Here is a complete overhaul of this boss fight:
Stage 1: The jungle abomination will move at about the speed of a redstone golem and try to hammer you down. It will periodically do a power attack which stuns you if you're within 5 blocks of the hammer, but its hammer will be stuck in the ground for 3 seconds, leaving it vulnerable.
Stage 2: The jungle abomination will summon mobs (at a medium rate) and attack you half as often, but its attacks will always be power attacks. Try not to get stunned in this stage.
Stage 3: The jungle abomination's hammer will sometimes change color. If it becomes green, it will inflict poison. If it becomes purple, it will inflict weakening. Other than this, it will periodically cycle between stage 1 and stage 2 behavior.
Stage 4: The jungle abomination will behave like in stage 1, but will make many vines rise from the ground which it could move through.
Stage 5: The jungle abomination will cover the entire arena with poisonous fog which will damage you slowly, but just enough to outrun your healing potion. Otherwise it will attack like in stage 3. You must defeat it before the poison defeats you.
