In short: A mob that lives inside stone surfaces and emits light particles when it moves around. Sometimes emits a knocking sound when inside resources.
Behaviour: Knockers live inside natural stone blocks (including sand, gravel and cobblestone, excluding stone bricks) that are on the surface (adjacent to an air block). They are able to move directly into another such block. If that other block has a light level of maximally seven, there is a chance that this causes the block to emit light particles, and also briefly shed light as a light source of strength seven.
They can also enter resouces like coal, diamond or redstone, and while inside such a block, they emit a knocking sound. In that case, they are assumed to feed on that resource, although they do not deplete it.
Knockers try to stay away from the player. Should a player be close, they stay still, hoping that he passes. If the block they are staying within is mined, they flee. They also try to go to areas with less light.
Their movement speed is slightly higher than that of the player, and even faster when they flee.
They drown within stone not adjacent to air.
Appearance: Outside of stone, they look like small pitch black cubes with two big eyes, based on the dust bunnies from Totoro. However, seeing them outside of stone is a rare thing, and they will try to go back into some shelter as soon as possible.
If they just fed on some resource, they are sprinkled with the resource in question.
Loot: None.
