consoles connecting to private servers

consoles should be able to directly connect to private bedrock servers. its dumb to force players to have to stay logged in to allow anyone other then pc players to join a bedrock server. it should be as easy and putting in the address and port in the server tab and done. and realms is not a good alternative. we shouldnt be forced to pay for a server that isnt needed. realm is for easy hosting on those that can not afford the resources of a dedicated home server so realms still has its place

    In the short term, this would be good, as it would be great to be able to do this.

    In the long term, giving more players access to non-featured servers is a bad idea, as featured servers will become less important, which will lower the quality of servers in general. Featured servers are large companies with big budgets to spend on making the best possible experience, while private servers are lower quality because of their budgets.

    Also, console games are not allowed to share IPs of their users, so therefore they aren't allowed to connect to external servers.

    The reason its not allowed is money you can sugarcoat it all you want but pc mobile almost all other system beside console can add them. Your reason would only be vaildated if the dedicated servers were actually dedicated no functioal up to date servers exist. The dedication is non exsistant. They cant even be bothered to monitor the servers. They only care about the gamemodes that brings in money which is minigames and prison no other gamemodes actually worth it. Survival is non exsistant with no ability to craft mine or do anything in a small box world where ppl just trashtalk. Skyblocks are all the same claiming to update but never do. And lets b rea ppl have already done the ip stuff on pc and thats what made minecraft popular as almost everyone on minecraft wants this to be like java edition we all know the risks and know how to avoid it. They need something. Better then these fake dedicated servers

    I hope we will be able to add private servers on Bedrock version for console. They just can put an option in the menu to unlock it if they want, but they should give us the possibility to connect directly to a private server on Bedrock consoles'.

    With the parameters locked by default, only advanced user will unlock the access to private server so it will be good in long-term.

    This is a big issue for dedicated Bedrock servers currently. There needs to be a streamlined method for doing this. Asking users to change their DNS settings to connect to an unofficial server to then connect to your server is asking too much. There should also be an option to /connect in the command bar.

    I run my own private server and I found it really dumb that they went out of their way to disable this on consoles. Stop assuming ineptitude from your users.
