Heart of Ender has the same problem as corrupted cauldron, but worse. He is either impossible to approach it, or you just shoot it with a million arrows or kill it instantly without any actual fight. Here's how to fix this while making the boss fight interesting:
But first, I want to start off with the laser attack, and it's really problematic. When this attack is about to happen, there is no indication of where the lasers spawn, so you just get killed instantly before you see what hit you, which is no fun at all. To fix this, give the lasers a "pre-laser" for 0.5 seconds that doesn't damage the player, but shows where the laser will appear. Also make the laser occur at a random rotation and in a random direction so the fight is more engaging and surprising.
Stage 1: Heart of Ender will attack you with melee attacks and periodically shoot fire out of his mouth.
Stage 2: Heart of Ender will do the laser attack, but will only shoot 1 beam. He will sometimes summon vortexes inside you that you can dodge by moving around (so you don't just hide away), but will otherwise attack normally.
Stage 3: Heart of Ender will do the laser attack, but will only shoot 2 beams. He will occasionally disappear and summon heads that shoot lasers, but will otherwise attack normally.
Stage 4: Heart of Ender will do the laser attack with 1, 2, or 4 beams, stop for a few seconds, and repeat. Defeat heart of ender before he defeats you!
