When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Pointed Dripstone Pistons

Add a new piston which is crafted like a sticky piston, but with pointed dripstone instead of slimeballs.

This piston doesn't retract any block if it had pushed one during its extension.

However, it will will retract any block if it hadn't pushed any blocks during its extension.

It will also damage mobs when directly pushing them.

The purpose for this block is similar to the observer's: take an unintentional mechanic (in the observer's case, BUD piston behavior) and attach it to a new block.

This makes the mechanic more easily understood, it adds more incentives to get various resources, it makes cross-platform parity either easier or less necessary, and gives room for more utility than the original unintentional mechanic provided.

    They should also damage entities. And these could be used to make the piston doors they make in Java edition on bedrock

    My first thought when seeing this was "OOOH STABBY PISTONS!" But I guess we could do those with just sticky pistons pushing dripstone. Your idea with the redstone thing is better.
