Hoppers that go up

The title says it all. A way to either make a hopper despense upward or a different item entirely that does the same thing. This would be so useful in redstone builds or just general storage to allow us to send items up without dropper towers.

    You could make a upwards minecart system but I see that has TONS of issues, so a upwards hopper would be NICE!

    Maybe the rising funnel is made of copper.

    You can do this with bubble water streams. The only limitation being, you cant do it in the nether.

    Water elevators are too big for some redstone contraptions and an upwards hopper would be awesome.

    This would be great but you could make it a closed system that needs a hopper to feed into it rather than you directly as opening the bottom would make everything fall out seen as it's upside down and instead of needing it powered, how about it can only dispense upwards when it's items are full and adding one in pushes one upwards into another one or a different container such as a chest or regular hopper
