If you venture deep into the dark forests, far away from any other structure, you might find a small clearing with a lone cottage. Its yard is fenced off by a cobblestone wall with a wooden gate to enter. Inside might be a small flowerbed or small farm and a path that leads to the front door.
The cottage contains lots of loot but it's mostly food. All around the house there are tables with cake and chests with cookies, pies, bread, honey, and suspicious stews. Item frames have random household items like bowls or pickaxes or leather clothes.
The cottage is well furnished and decorated. Downstairs theres a fireplace and chimney with an unlit campfire (so the smoke doesnt make it easy to find). Theres a kitchen with a cauldron and furnaces. Theres a staircase that leads to the bedroom upstairs with 1–3 beds. The cottage is also short enough that it doesn't tower over the trees because that would make it easy to find.
Going inside one is risky because theres also a chance that the cottage is trapped and inhabited by a witch, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the outside if its a "good" house or "bad" house. The suspicious stews are also random so even if the cottage is safe, the stew might make you sick. If its a witch's cottage, the cauldron will contain a random potion instead of water.
Alternatively, the cottage could be a gingerbread house, which would be exactly the same as the cottage but its made out of colorful blocks to look like candy. This is a more playful option.
