    problems i have with it

    • telling millions of people they require a Microsoft account now
    • data collecting since not everyone has a account it will give Microsoft more accounts
    • the only reason the Migration is because of 2FA instead of making 2FA they just forced millions to change over..
    • instead of just hacking a account for the character to cheat they can collect people's data

which means if people start using Microsoft more often and don't turn on 2FA, it just means more people information can be stolen and sold online from teens to kids

that's the biggest issue for me, it's a big security problem

Why don’t you just call Minecraft support, so they can help you?

Why is the change necessary? and Why in the WORLD would you disable non Microsoft accounts?! A big part of the growth of Minecraft is thru the community and the plugins and mods that people have created over the years for the Minecraft we know and love today! If you disable the use of the java accounts, all the launchers tied to the java launcher will be null and void and all that work, time, and effort people put into those creations will be for nothing.
You say it's for better security, and better launcher but the launcher has been so buggy since the change, and their was a bug that made it so hackers could get control of accounts thru the launcher from any server on the 1.18 Minecraft update so I doubt the migrate to the "new and improved" launcher is all that great after all.

I agree, it definitely should not be required.

It's a pretty big security issue for one. There are a lot of things tied to a Microsoft account, especially if you do any .NET development, and getting it compromised is a much bigger problem than getting a Mojang account compromised.

It's also an issue for people with multiple Mojang accounts since they apparently only allow one to be linked to a Microsoft account. We have several that we use for a convention that we now have no idea how to handle.

i agree with this post a lot. mojang should just let non-microsoft account user stay the way they are instead of forcing them to switch over. and i also especially agree with this because i  cant even switch over because my email adress was deleted before i could change it which leads to me losing i game i love very much because then i cant play without a microsoft acount.so mojang, please change it back to normal this really was a stupid idea.

I am now locked out of my own minecraft legacy account, because I am stuck in the migration process. When trying to validate the e-mail address, it keeps telling me the e-mail I entered is invalid. I can't change the e-mail or otherwise do anything about it, because I do not have the transaciton ID.
I got minecraft way back in 2011, it is unreasonable of microsoft to require someone to still have such information saved 10+ years after the game was bought, in order to still play the game.
The help center haven't been able to help at all.

Microsoft, fix this. I am not rebuying minecraft just because you're being unreasonable.

How can it even be legal to force users to migrate to Microsoft accounts!? I bought and paid for the game years before Microsoft took over, and now you just decided to prevent me from playing MY copy of the game!! Unless, offcourse, I migrate to Microsoft - and incidentally thereby surrender loads of more or less personal data to you,

Offcourse, having access to lots of data about as many users as possible is not at all your goal with the migration, right!? Instead you claim to do it only to increase security for the users. But... I neither need nor want that added security! I don't play online, I've never had any issues with the Mojang account, and in fact I'd prefer to play offline and not use any account at all. But no... YOU now prevent ME from playing MY game. If you're that keen on serving your users, then you would at least have made the migration optional!

It pisses me even more of, that it's not even possible to leave a comment or complaint about it here, without (tadaaa) getting a Microsoft account. And when I logged on to feedback.minecraft.net / this site, I even had to accept, that the app got access to my Xbox account info and the mail adresses of my profile. Highly relevant to ensuring my Minecraft account security... hmm!!

Again... you prevent me from playing my copy of the game!! What on earth gives you the rigth to do that?

I've migrated my account, twice at this point, and still lost access to MC. Why in the world would I have to buy a game that I have already bought before...

I want my account back. I never even knew that my account was going to be deleted. It also feels like I have been legally robbed by Microsoft. Why do you treat costumers this way? I am sorry that I am not all knowing and am aware of all the happenings at Microsoft and Minecraft HQ.

Congrats you have added another person to the "Minecraft sucks" category by doing this as well as now I will purposely avoid Microsoft products as well in response to this. Why would I ever want to buy a software that a company can take away from me cause it just "feels like it".
I am disappointed in both Minecraft and Microsoft and will probably not be using them from now on if I can help it.
