Dripstone Mite [Mob Idea]

The Dripstone Mite is a small, but deadly creature that secludes itself in the Dripstone caves. What is it doing in the Dripstone Caves you ask? Well, its camouflaging itself amongst the Stalagmites with a pointed dripstone block for a shell on its back, to pounce on any unsuspecting prey that dares to get close its precious dripstone blocks. You see, the Dripstone Mite feeds on the dripstone blocks, and is therefore naturally overprotective of its food. And if your wondering why I am calling such a small creature with a weird obsession for dripstone blocks deadly, its because it uses its pointed dripstone shell to attack any mob or player that gets too close to its precious blocks. As long as its with its dripstone blocks... you the other mobs and the Dripstone Mite will stay happy :)

    I would call it a Dripstone Crab and make it a bit more like a hermit crab. It would crawl on floors and ceilings, and if a player goes underneath they would drop their shell and then regrow it

    it might also have nests in the dirpstone blocks and just like a silver fish more will come is broken but if on is attcked more will not come

    I love this idea, but i would add one thing. There should be a varient of the Dripstone Mites that walks on the ceiling of the Dripstone caves. Exept it would be bigger and extremely hostile if you even enter the biome. Instead of just attacking you, it could drop the dripstone on its back to you, and after that be more vulnerable to bows and melee weapons. In this state, it would just keep running uin the ceiling until it finds a dripstone block to eat, and then regrow the stalagtite on its back, ready to attack again.
