Along with the villager mob, there are variants that work and trade with the player in order to get emeralds as their currency. Among the villagers is the Green Villager, or the Nitwit that doesn't have a job position to work or trade with the player. without anyway to get any emeralds for themselves, Nitwits should start to have the ability to steal emeralds. The way this'll work is by Green Villagers will be wandering around the village as usual, doing nothing but looking for emeralds. The thing is that when the player or something drops an emerald, the Nitwits will speed up to run towards the emeralds. They'll immediately snatch up the emeralds, which they're now stolen by the Nitwits and can be dropped on death. The thing is that they can only do this within the village's borders, nowhere outside the borders no matter if they're close or not. There is also the fact that Nitwits are the first villagers that can open chests, they do this to take your emeralds and nothing else. If you have diamonds, or even netherite, anything valuable within a chest that has 10 emeralds along inside, only the 10 emeralds will be taken, nothing else. The thing is that Nitwits can only open regular chests and trapped chests, not ender chest, barrels, shulker boxes, and hoppers.
Overall, I think it'll be a great idea that the Nitwit Villager should be able to steal emeralds.
