Spyglass Texture fixes

In the recent snapshot (20W48A) they made spyglasses a 3D texture. This looks great but also seems out of place in the inventory slots. What if the old 2D texture was the inventory item but when using the spyglass, it becomes 3D. It would be exactly like the Trident and its two different designs! Then you get the best of both worlds.

    I'm 100% agree and I thought the exact same thing while playing in the new snapshot. it's just make sense doesn't it

    Perfect, exactly my thoughts.

     

    Going forward, (unless I'm wrong) we should follow the existing "3d inventory model" exclusively for placeable blocks and 2d portraits for holdable only items.  Holdables can still have newer 3d models when held.

    I think that there should be an option called "3D Inventory Textures" that could toggle 3D items and block models in the inventory. There could also be an option for holding it.

    mojang should add this as an option for all items ingame! like by adding a folder called "held" or "inHand" in the models/items folder! this would give resource pack creators like me the option to do this for any item! limiting this feature to the trident is such a shame

    I agree with this one, the spyglass texture in the inventory should be 2d while on hand it's 3d
