/gamerule classicpvp

This gamerule gives you the 1.8.9 pvp while you can still use crossbows and trident. This gamemode will remove shields and add sword blocking into the game, remove left hand, disable attack cooldown and change pvp back to the 1.8.9 style.

    You could just change your version and the game won’t lag because that would take up some storage to do that
