Same thing happened to me, i don't really know why mojang wouldn't change this since it really doesn't affect the game in any negative way.

I agree with this on a personal level. I had made a skin over the course of several hours with my viewers on stream and wasn't able to use it because Minecraft: Java Edition specifically doesn't support it. I do not see any reason why this edition of Minecraft shouldn't support 128x128 pixel skins, seeing as Bedrock Edition does have support for it.

Yes, I was doing an 256x256 skin and when I was going to upload the game doesn't let me. Many mods have done this and Mojang haven't. Disapointed but not surprised.

Yeah! I really want to put on my 1024x1024 skin in the android pocket edition/bedrock without the t-shirt getting pixelated.

i agree with this it would be awesome to have better resolution skins as peoples creativity could flow alot more and you'd see more diverse skins

With 128x128 we can create a better skin than 64x64, so I wish mojang update it in the future.

Having the same issue 2 years later, is there a work around created for this issue yet?

I think this is a good idea but it would make the game run slower.

Exactly! It doesn't change the game, it's easy to allow and it would let players be even more creative!

Unfortunatelly, both bedrock and java didn't get this feature that should exist these days so maybe they will never add it because Mojang do not care enough for Minecraft players to implement that ability to players - both bedrock and java. Only java can enjoy with that feature but using mods only. Bedrock can't - there is no even an API in bedrock published that can be used for making add-on that can behave like HDSkins mod for Java Edition. So Mojang, prove to me if I'm wrong - I'm always keeping clients up-to-date
