More use for the Smithing table

So instead of just using the Smithing table to upgrade to Netherite tools, I should be used to upgrade all tools to the next tier, so stone to iron, iron to diamond, ect. This would give players more of a reason to craft a smithing table.

    It could be used specifically for gilding gold, iron, and netherite

    Gilding could be used to trick people into thinkinf you have different types of tools/armor. It could also be used to pacify Piglins while still having good armor and tools

    If it was used for the next tier, that would be too op as all you need is an iron chestplate with only 1 diamond to make a diamond chestplate, and also, you cant really say "then how comes you only need 1 netherite ingot to make netherite armour and tools" because it comes in veins of 1 to 3 and it is quite hard for it to be found where as diamonds comes in veins of 1 to 8 or 10 and can be mined with fortune
