There are some sections in missions where the goal is to "Find x" or "Find y", except the game just tells you where to go. This discourages exploration and makes it so that you mostly ignore side-passages unless you're really confident you can do the whole level. If you instead removed the markers in those sections, you would literally have to find your way there, and it would add a certain challenge, as well as making it more exciting. Also, for the less adventure-prone players, you could make it togglable.
