Upgradeable Nether Portal

The feature of being able to instantly travel to the nether with no long portal animation in creative mode is really nice for the user's experience, so I think you should be able to use that feature in survival by placing crying obsidian in all four corners of the portal, upgrading it. This would give the players convenience and a visual improvement, but also a practical advantage, as they wouldn't have to wait and be potentially attacked inside the portal. That's why I chose crying obsidian, a block you almost always have to have already been to the nether to get save ruined portals, for the upgrade block.
