Amethyst blocks (or crystals) should be animated and/or have particles

While the textures of Amethysts are pretty by themselves, altogether within a Geode they feel very static and dead as of 20w24a. When looking at a geode in real life, they sparkle and shimmer in the light, creating a very beautiful and mesmerizing affect. There's nothing truly like this within Minecraft.

My idea is to sort of replicate this effect by giving Amethyst blocks an animated texture. Just some sort of looping shimmering animation would really make it beautiful. The crystals themselves could also have one, or perhaps for them, there could be a cute sparkle particle effect for even more ambience.

With both of these, Geodes would certainly even further fulfill that "underground wonder" the devs really want in this update. They'd be way more visually interesting on top of their beautiful purple color.

 

This could be dependent on light level.. but I don't think all that effort is needed. Just simple animations/particles would go a long way.

    This is a wonderful idea. It doesn't need to be complex, maybe like a sparkle effect, but it would have so much of an affect.

    They could also expand this sparkling idea with water, maybe depending on the light level shining on it, but only a subtle sparkle overall so it's not too striking (hey the options are also there if you don't like it you could turn it off or even tweak its intensity like in shaders). I don't know if this is already a thing for ores, I haven't paid much attention to that aspect. I've always secretly hoped for a rare special forest biome they could have the water have this "magical" effect too, a sort of fantasy theme to it. Anyways that's my rant over, thanks!
