I like updates & changes to the game but I always have to look at external websites to find out details. Unfortunately, this takes away the mystery of the update & takes away that fun & awe-filled feeling of discovering some cool new update. Ideally, I would love to discover these updates in-game.
I propose a solution. It’s a new NPC that delivers news bulletins to you. Like the Wandering Trader, it comes to you periodically and immediately after an update. From it, you can purchase books that talk about the new updates. One will be a book about the mountains & cliffs; another will be about one of the cave biomes etc. These books could cost some emeralds (so there are even more desirable items only bought by emeralds). The books shouldn’t simply list the updates/changes but word it so that the player would be encouraged to investigate. It could describe a new biome with intriguingly imaginative visuals. Or it could be a riddle or poem (say maybe about the Warden). It could also help instruct the player how to use something new. Just imagine if the player discovered in-game that there was the Elytra! Because when you go online & watch a YouTube video about it, all the wow factor is cashed out in the video & you know everything about it. Imagine having that wow factor in-game! You may not be an immediate Minecraft master as you would after watching a YouTube video, but it adds a layer of challenge to the game & something else to do.
