Waypoints with banners

This would be a Java parity where banners could be used with name tags to name certain locations.  I think this would make maps more ‘useful’ even though they already are.  They would stay on the map and adjust to the size of you were to ‘level up’ the map.  Depending on the banner color the text would be that color.  A red banner would show red text.

    This would be really helpful for Realms and servers on bedrock. Its already implemented in Java, but the switch over to Bedrock would be awesome

    Please Minecraft, this would be huge for the bedrock version of the game, it would help me not get lost on my world and spend hours trying to find my base.

    Java has it, and it would be perfect for those who play on bedrock and have a large portion of the world explored, so they can go back to marked areas. Please make this a thing, it shouldn’t even be that hard

    Yeah! Saw someone do this on Java and was upset to find out it didn’t work on bedrock! I want to label the structures and farms on my map! Pls add!

    please mojang I've been waiting for this parity of waypoints, and also banners on Shields to come to bedrock, I'm waiting for these features

    We got Banners on Shields now on Bedrock for 1.20, so really this is the only parity change we need in terms of Banners that would make it equally as good as it is on Java. Bedrock Team, please add this feature in so that it'll be easier to see all the locations of my Villages, Structures and other Important Points on a Map Wall.
