Mobs using the shield mechanic

There are no mobs in the game that uses the shield (or a variation of it).

None of the melee mobs spawn with a shield (and if spawned with commands, they still don't use it).

The Mob D from the "2017 mob vote" was a cool idea. However that probably won't be coming back, but something similar should be added to Minecraft.

    Splendid idea my dear friend. It is actually surprising that we still don't have any mobs using shields.

    Agreed! One of the main reasons I voted for Mob D was to get a land dwelling mob that couldn't be solved by just shooting arrows.

    I REALLY want a tank hostile mob that actually uses shields. This makes certain weapons such as piercing crossbows, axes, and splash potions very useful. Even flint and steel becomes a useful weapon! It's a lot better than just spamming your sword and bow everywhere, which gets boring.
