    I recommend a composition of copper, redstone, and iron or netherite. Copper for the 'coil', iron to provide a core, and redstone to enable compatibility with redstone components. I recommend redstone at the top and bottom middle slots, iron or netherite in the very center, and that the rest be filled in with copper.
    I like the concept you have posted here as it would greatly expand the range of possible mechanical systems in minecraft.

    I like this idea if you can craft a magnet with copper and redstone and iron or a netherite scrap or a netherite ingot. Maybe the netherite-ingot-magnet would be the strongest magnet. Maybe the netherite-scrap-magnet would be the 2nd strongest magnet. Maybe an iron-ingot-magnet would be the weakest magnet.
