With the introduction of the the new cave shapes (large and water) the new vein pattern for ore spawning, something that should be added is a way to customize them.
Many people, like me, don’t like caving very much, due to how swiss cheese like the underground is. I’ve gone over a thousand blocks in a single cave system with four abandoned mine shafts before.
What I’m suggesting here would be pretty major, but also majorly epic: a new tab in the world creation screen similar to 1.12 and under’s customizable worlds, which you as developers can take as far or do as little with as you want. However, the basic thing I’m asking for is to add in customizable caves. To be able to adjust size (the new ultra large caverns), rarity of mine shafts and ravines, separation of cave systems(so we can make caves be rare and far apart like in real life if we wanted to) as well as adjust the amount of water in caves, (with ocean caves and the new water-filled caves being hard to explore as you drown and can’t light them up), and being able to toggle all ore spacing in the veins like the new copper does (as well as toggling copper to spawn like classic ore) would be absolutely EPIC in every way.
