As we all know, Minecraft's caves are getting updated in 1.17, and currently, we don't know of many hostile mobs that will spawn exclusively in the caves (the Warden being one of these mobs). This is where the idea of having a Geomancer in the game comes from.
And yes, I am referring to the Geomancer from Minecraft Dungeons.
Where would it spawn? Underground, obviously. It would probably spawn in biomes like the Dripstone Caves (or something similar). The Lush Caves can have Axolotls and the Deep Dark can have the Warden.
How frequently would it spawn? It's best if it spawned about as much as a Witch does, meaning it would be a rarer mob to encounter, as fighting multiple Geomancers in Minecraft Dungeons can be a hassle.
How does it attack? In Minecraft Dungeons, the Geomancer has two attacks: It summons stone pillars around the player to try and stop them from moving around, and after a short amount of time (5 seconds) the pillars will retreat into the ground, and it can also summon a different type of stone pillar that will stick up from the ground, and after 5 seconds, it will explode. The Geomancer uses these attacks from a distance and will slowly walk away from the player if they are close.
What would it drop? I'm not entirely sure what it would drop, but maybe it has a chance of dropping a staff that allows the player to summon in both types of stone pillar (separate left click-right click functions, maybe?).
Isn't this just another reskinned Illager? No. It has a beard.
