I was very happy to hear the developers say that they wanted to include endangered animals into the game to create/raise awareness for them. I recall hearing about the endangered Pangolin. Pangolins are the worlds MOST TRAFFICKED ANIMAL IN EXISTANCE. They are hunted & poached for their scales & meat. I began to think what they could be doing in Minecraft. Pangolins are mainly found in Southern Africa and Regions of South East Asia, so in game they could be roaming around in the Savannah & desert biomes. Looking at research, Pangolins shed their scales as they mature & grow. This would be a very useful concept in the game to avoid killing them, having the pangolin shed it's scales about as often as a chicken lays its egg. The scales may only be obtained by waiting for them to drop off of the Pangolin. With these scales, you could craft a special type armor. This armor wouldn't go on the player, but they could create armor for their pets! Dogs & Cats mainly, being as horses already have armor. This armor would be very useful for pets seeing as they accompany the player & have a chance of getting hurt. Pangolins would be PEACEFUL mobs, they would have a defense mechanism in the event anybody would dare hurt it. This mechanism would be curling up into a ball, much like an armadillo. If killed by a player, they would only drop experience points, no meat or scales. I believe that by adding Pangolins to Minecraft, we could raise awareness for these sweet sweet animals
