I totally agree. At least there is a point. I can’t believe people would vote for a mob which has no purpose. If Mojang adds this I would be less salt than I am now.

I think they should rename Glowstone Dust to simply “Glowdust” and have Glow Squids drop it too. That alone would make them super useful

Idea: glow squids give you a buff like dolphins do. But instead of fast swimming, they give you a buff like the respiration enchantment- being able to see underwater more clearly (without the water breathing aspect). I think it would make a lot of sense, especially deep underwater where they can actually be really useful.

I think the glow squid should also drop "neon ink sacs" that will make neon wool, beds, banners, and neon leather armor.the color would be the neon green that the pattern of the glow squid has.

I think what would be really cool is to add a new dye, that can be used for coloured lamps, neon/luminescent wool/terracotta and concrete as well as perhaps a new light block. It would be quite cool for the building community as we could make even cooler neon cities, and futuristic builds, heck even 60s themed kitchens. It would just be nice to make it so the glow squid isn't just a retextured squid that doesn't even glow (make it glow)

It would be even better if their ink could be used as underwater redstone. After all they emit light just like redstone do, they have energy inside them. It makes sense.

I like the idea of having them drop Prismarine Crystals, as it makes more sense than Glowstone, and means you still need to find an Ocean Temple to make use of them. Having them drop Glowstone Dust would make it possible to get Glowstone before visiting the Nether, which I don't like.

I think on stead of something we have we should have glowing inc sacks as the community is suggesting

Ok, glow squid are a real thing. It would be great if the in game glow squid could squirt glowing ink that would give you a status effect (blindness?). The ink could also be collected in a bottle like dragons breath this would be called Luciferin (just like the real squid!)and be used to craft dye-able light sources.

I was thinking of an item called glow light(simple enough) that would be able to be used as dye for anything that can be dyed, even leather armor, but if you put it in a furnace, it would become glow rock, which could be used with any armor, except leather, in a smithing table to make that armor into glowing____armor, which would have the durability of that armor, but could glow.

I would have the ink that normal squids shoot out cause blindness. Glow Squids would also shoot out ink but it would glow blue and give night vision or better water visibility. It could give something similar to blindness but the screen goes white instead of black.
