Minecraft clouds are super relaxing to watch, but unfortunately, I find myself underwhelmed by the single layer of clouds that drone by. I think that updating minecraft’s sky has the potential to give the game and your experiences within them more personality as well as creating interesting, survival-centric game mechanics. The first thing I would like to suggest is a very basic change that would make a big difference- adding a second or even multiple layers of clouds. Expanding on this, white and grey clouds, opaque and transparent, low and high. An abundance of crisp, icy clouds in frigid and rainy climates, low dense clouds in more humid biomes and small white sky raisins with the occasional monstrous and metallic thunderstorm in more arid biomes. Can you imagine a storm clearing and the clouds parting as the sun slowly creeps back into the sky? The state of the clouds can also be your real-time forecast so players can prepare to be cut off from the light and endure a higher mob spawning rate as the sky becomes soaked in storm clouds. That last feature would be particularly useful for countering the fact that phantoms incentivize you to skip one of Minecraft’s most centric challenges- night. No sleep during the day, after all! Imagine causing cloudbursts to provide water for viciously thirsty plants or summoning lightning to create different kinds of rare mobs. I truly believe there’s a lot of untapped potential in Minecraft’s sky. Thank you for Listening!
